CAFEIN - PEKANBARU

Stretched back as far as eleventh century, brick masonry has existed in Pekanbaru. In the name of modernity, the new concrete-plastered shophouse occupies most of the streetscapes in the city. Despite the fact that its long forgotten, small home brick manufacturer still exists along with the craftsmanship. Besides brick is the most quintessential material in architecture, it suggests sentimental experience. The new facade brings back the brick masonry romanticism to the town. Its simple form amplifies basic archetypal in contemporary architecture. It showcases a past present nostalgia.
